Gigi Salij

Booth B-35

Gigi Salij is a fine-art screen printer, working in a pop-art style.  Her recurring subjects include advertising and packaging, iconic works of art, industrial food, and contemporary American political culture—especially the prevalence of gun violence, and the (incomplete) feminist project.

Gigi is a graduate of Swarthmore College and Harvard University Graduate School of Design—neither of which taught her anything about printmaking.  Instead, she learned from the patient and skilled teachers of the continuing education classes at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, and the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Gigi has exhibited her work in solo and group shows across the country, and has served on the faculty of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.
